Continue to ensure that local residents can veto high increases in Council tax via a referendum: Completed (Maintaining)
Currently councils have to hold a referendum for increases in Council Tax over 5%. The Government has pledged to continue this.

The requirement to hold a referendum if a council wishes to raise council tax by over 5% remains in place.
