Commission an examination of the use of share buybacks: Pending
A share buyback is simply a company buying back its own shares. This is a promise to investigate the extent of the use of buy-backs to artificially to hit performance targets and inflate executive pay. This will apply to only publically listed companies which are those with a PLC stamp at the end of their name.

The Government's business reforms proposals contain a proposal to complete this promise.
