Legislate to make executive pay packages subject to strict annual votes by shareholders: Pending

There was no mention of completing this promise in the latest governent proposals for business reforms. Instead there was a weaker promise that 'all listed companies with significant shareholder opposition to executive pay packages will have their names published on a new public register'. This means that executive pay packages will not be subject of annual votes, which was the promise. If it turns out that significant shareholder opposition is expressed through a vote, then this will leave the promise fulfilled.
